Taylor Owen and Ben Kiernan have been writing, of late, about the real numbers of bombs dropped over Cambodia during the late sixties and early seventies. The number is clearly much higher than the already-overwhelming numbers we had. To wit, 2.75 million tons of explosives were dropped on Cambodia during this period, on a country the size of Missouri. Also, the bombing started under Lyndon “Pigfucker” Johnson, rather than under Nixon, though the latter intensified it in his typically spleen-driven manner.
The new article hit the news wires today, and can be seen on ZNet, Japan Focus, and the History News Network. You can also see the older article here. Check out Taylor Owen’s home page for good writings on ‘security,’ and lots of good maps.
